“Blooming Puerto de la Cruz” is the name given to a festival to be celebrated biannually in Puerto de la Cruz, using the natural resources that the archipelago offers, which consists in the great diversity of flora and the possibilities and study it brings with it.
The idea originated from Centro de Iniciativas y Turismo of Puerto de la Cruz, whom is fully occupied in developing such initiative. The celebration of this first edition will coincide with the “World Tourism Day”, on Saturday 27th September and it will go on for three days.
The objective is to offer, in a privileged environment, as is, Puerto de la Cruz, a different attractive option to residents and visitors, exposing the existing gardens in the town; as well as presenting some of the customs/traditions that are still in practise throughout the year. Such as the ornamentation of old, public, water taps and crosses that are spread throughout the town.
Apart from the above, there will also be
- exposition of flowers and plants
- native products of the canaries
- conferences imparted by botanical specialists
- documentaries
- activities for students
- art and music contests and attractions
